My niece Clementine

I took some pictures of my niece Clementine this last week. This one is my favorite. It was really hard to get a good shot of her, but it was worth the effort.

I really need a couple new lenses. This was taken with a Canon 20D and with a 50 mm 1.8 lens.

I photoshopped it to look like a painting. I also had to clone out a few cat hairs from the original, and that came out really good. I am pleased with myself. She also asked me to make up an announcement for her, and this is the one she chose.

Ready... Amy... Fire!!!

LOL Trying to be clever... so not working.

I took some pictures of my friend Amy on Friday. I like this one in particular and she thinks she looks horrible in it.

Which makes me think... I take shots of people and I see how they look. I like the shots that make them look natural and how I see them. I think those are the best shots. I mean besides lighting and all that. Amy laughing is how I spend my time with her, and when I take a picture of her in my mind, it is how I see her. She wants one that is the best angle of each feature that she feels is good. But that isn't what people close to her remember about it. Not each particular feature in a certain way.

I think of her funny sense of humor and her great laugh. How happy her face is in general, and even the face she makes when she is yelling at her kids...*L*. Or rather is it the look when when she is frustrated they don't listen. I can relate to that look really well.

Well, so my point here is that I really need to step back and allow others to make their choices themselves. I take it quite personally when someone doesn't like the picture I chose... which is stupid, because for me, I want my clients to get what they want. If they don't like what I pick, but choose another, why should that offend me? LOL

Silke-White.

I took photos of my friend Nina on Tuesday. I was super anxious about it, but they turned out well. I need to work on my lighting. I had the back light not right, and the soft box was too high for some of the shots. Definitely need to make sure we have more space to work in next time. I need to learn to work with my light meter as well, that would probably simplify a lot of this.
